I’m moving from Video into flash photography. A few years back I did still work and almost always shot without a flash, mainly because I didn’t understand how to get good shots with a flash (unless I was photographing raindrops or just taking away shadow). I have a one off shoot coming up in the dark and your lesson on flash sync has helped. I’ll treat the event as experimental and hope to get something usable. Thanks for the advise.

  32. wecontinue says:

Coming from a film and 3d background I think in terms of stage lighting such as spot, directional, ambient, global, omni and coloured lighting. I love the swinging lightbulb effect in the intro which really crystalizes the idea.

  41. TheConnyB says:

@MusicsAngelica you don´t think that depends on the time of year/country/continent you are currently in? Here in Sweden the sun will set at 2:45pm in the winter but not until 10:45pm in the summer. In northern Sweden the sun will not set at all in summer. The magic hour is about one hour before the sun is starting to set.

  45. lisawikipedia says:

@MusicsAngelica it depends on where you are an if its summer, fall, spring or winter

  46. MusicsAngelica says:
