Do the Bride a Favor Discusses How to ...

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) April 26, 2013

Weddings are one celebration that has stood the test of time tradition-wise. However, todays brides are looking to change the normal routine in favor of shorter ceremonies and guest-centered receptions. GoErie.com has just released a list of ten new trends in weddings and Do the Bride a Favor investigates how to incorporate these into your celebration.

1. Abandon the guest book.

Guest books are one thing that takes pride of place after a wedding. Re-think this wedding staple by getting creative. Use a blank photo frame and have your guests sign it. Or, print off a favorite love quote and let your guests write notes around it.

2. Capture your guests in photos.

A photo booth is a great way to personalize your ceremony or reception. Many photographers and rental companies offer photo booth services to let your guests strike a pose with props. These photos make up great scrapbooks!

3. Skip the large buffet.

Many brides are opting for smaller food tables scattered throughout the room instead of one large food table. This allows guests to interact and mingle. If your ceremony is at midday and will last into the night, offer late-night snacks to your guests such as sugar-free treats or chips and dip.

4. Personalize your groom cake.

Groom cakes are quickly becoming the new way for couples to display their hobbies and interests. From sports themed cakes to movie character cupcakes, the grooms cake is the newest way to wow your guests.

5. Get creative with lighting.

Lighting displays that project a monogram or message to guests is a favorite way for couples to add a special touch to their reception. Outdoor Christmas lights and Mason jar lanterns are also wonderful ways to add special lighting to your venue.

6. Shorten the show.

To get the party started, some couples are combining the father-daughter and mother-son dance.

7. Let your guests lounge.

Lounge furniture is the new must-have at larger weddings. Many rental companies offer lounge chairs alongside normal seating. Set up a few lounge chairs in the reception area and outfit with pillows or throws for a personal touch.

8. Don’t skimp on entertainment.

Deejays and live entertainment groups are a great way to keep your reception going and they allow your guests to request favorite songs or dedicate songs to the bride and groom.

9. Give favors, not clutter.

Always give favors that your guests will use! Edible favors such as personalized wedding chocolates and potted herbs are always a favorite.

10. Rethink the grand exit.

Confetti and rice are being side-lined in favor of sparklers, paper lanterns and bells. Think of a creative way for your guests to send you off!

Do the Bride a Favor Releases Onsite ...

Irvine, CA (PRWEB) March 27, 2013

The modern wedding planner’s task is a juggling act, from choosing unique custom bridal favors, kid’s confections vs. adult treats, to considering the pros and cons of Mix Tape vs. DJ vs. Live Band. For those wedding planners who want to rent out a reception facility, Do the Bride a Favor agrees with a recent Baltimore Sun article that states that it makes sense to ask for an onsite venue coordinator to be included as part of the wedding package. Do the Bride a Favor is impressed with the benefits an onsite venue coordinator can provide for wedding planners.

An onsite venue coordinator can often be added at no extra charge during vendor negotiations. This person is then in an excellent position to act as liaison between vendors and wedding planners, communicating in real-time the concerns and issues of each to the other so that there are no undue surprises as the big day approaches. In addition, an onsite venue coordinator is perfectly placed to translate the bride and groom’s preferences and personalities into language vendors can make sense of, and act upon promptly. This is especially important, DtBaF stresses, in the areas of lighting, climate control, catering and bar ambience, as well as the dimensions of the reception hall, photo location options, and logistics for the ceremony itself.

Do the Bride a Favor concludes that wedding planners should consider adding an onsite venue coordinator as part of a reception facilities rental package, especially since such an agent can often be added at no extra charge.
